What is EMI Locker and how does it help my EMI business?
EMI Locker is Reptile's device-lock software for phones sold on EMI. From one dashboard you can apply a soft, full or progressive lock on a defaulting device, track its last-known location and SIM changes, and unlock it instantly when payment is received.
Which phones are supported?
Android phones are protected through device-policy integration (Android 7 and above). Apple iPhones are covered separately by Reptile i-Lock, which works through Apple's enterprise device-management framework.
How long does activation take at the point of sale?
Under 60 seconds. Your staff scans a QR code or installs the app, and the device is protected before the customer leaves the counter.
Does the customer see anything different on their phone?
Not while they pay on time. Paying customers use their phone normally — restrictions only apply if an EMI is missed.
How does the lock work?
You choose a soft-lock, a progressive (staged) lock or a full lock with one tap from the dashboard. As soon as the EMI is paid, the device unlocks automatically.
What if a customer pays in cash?
Cash, UPI and wallet payments are all supported. Once the payment is recorded against the EMI, the device can be unlocked immediately.
Do you provide a recovery agent app?
Yes. The Android recovery agent app gives field staff route planning, device location data and proof-of-visit capture.
